Spotify encountered an unexpected bug last week. Thousands of users complained that their playlists did not appear on the desktop and web version. Users could not access their own and their friends’ music collections. So what is the cause of this error in Spotify?
Playlist disappeared in Spotify app
Spotify users noticed that their playlists disappeared when they logged in to the platform. The bug, which has been seen on the desktop and web version for the past week, caused playlists published in user profiles to disappear. This caused a big repercussion on social media.
Spotify acknowledged the problem in a statement. Accordingly, it confirmed that some subscribers had problems browsing and creating playlists. The company soothed users on social media by saying that its technical team is investigating the problem.
In a statement to subscribers, Spotify said, “Don’t panic. This is definitely not a feature, it’s a bug.” Many users complained about the disappearance of their playlists and reproached the platform.
The issue does not appear to have affected all Spotify accounts. However, one user said that neither he nor his friends could see their music collections. Accordingly, he emphasized that he could not access the songs he had recorded for months.
Spotify stated that playlists are viewable again after the update to the desktop and web version. It recommended logging out of accounts and logging in again to synchronize data.
